Best LA Coffee Shops

Coffee is kind of a big deal in my household. Joe is the ultimate coffee snob and insists on trying every coffee shop in town whether we’re in LA, and on vacation.  No joke, if he were planning out our entire trips they would involve 5 coffee shops a day.  I say that because that actually happened one day when we were in Berlin and went on a full on coffee tour until I was so jittery and hangry that I insisted we eat.  Haha! If there’s one thing that LA isn’t lacking, it’s an abundance of wonderful coffee shops. I have so many favorites it’s hard to choose! I wanted to share my top coffee shops in LA for your next trip here. There are so many that you will probably never get to try them all, so here are my essentials!

Collage Coffee

One of my favorite little coffee shops. This tiny spot on York Blvd in Highland Park is such a gem. It’s covered in pretty tiles, and has a nice outdoor patio to drink your coffee in. P.S. It’s not open very late, so check the hours before you go.

Eightfold Coffee

A cute spot in Echo Park with great coffee and books. They always have pretty ceramics on sale that I want every time I go!

La Colombe

I always stop by La Colombe for a coffee when I’m in the Silverlake area. There’s this cute mural along the wall too, love these colors!

Dinosaur Coffee

The dinosaur love is real here!  There are dino-themed touches all around this coffee shop, and even their coffee cup sleeves have a dinosaur on them. I like it because you can have a coffee outside on the patio or inside, and there’s always room. P.S. the guy who invented Cards Against Humanity opened the shop.

G&B Coffee

If you’re in downtown you have to check out  Grand Central Market, and when you’re in the market you have to check out G&B Coffee. It feels more like you’re sitting at a bar, but I swear it’s coffee! Their drinks are out of this world and basically the craft cocktail version of coffee.

Coffee Commissary

There are a few locations for Coffee Commissary around LA, and they’re always a good spot to grab coffee and food. P.S. their biscuits are to die for.

Go Get Em Tiger

Another shop with a few locations. I always go to the one in Los Feliz and get the Full Nelson. It’s a must!

Little Ripper Coffee

A cute little Australian-run coffee shop in the Atwater Village neighborhood. Try their delicious lavender latte, and walk around the shops on the street.

Tilt Coffee Bar

If you don’t look for it, you’ll pass this little gem by! I stumbled upon this coffee shop after eating lunch at Kazu Nori and going for a walk. It’s inside of this glowing alleyway and has really great coffees for a small, unassuming shop.

Blue Bottle Coffee

It’s cool to see Blue Bottle popping up all around LA, and they’re all huge locations which makes for the perfect place to work with a laptop or read a book.

Bru Coffeebar

I always stop here before an afternoon movie at the Los Feliz 3. It’s a simple coffee shop with good drinks. If you’re in the area, stop by!

Paramount Coffee Project

An Australian coffee shop with great food to boot. Lots of good toasts and sandwiches! I always stop by for a coffee when I’m on Fairfax.

Intelligentsia Coffee Silver Lake Coffeebar

An OG coffee classic right in the heart of Silver Lake. I will never get over they’re bold blue tiles.
