5 Ways To Practice Self-Love for V-Day!
This post is sponsored by Cacique Intimates by Lane Bryant, but all opinions are my own.
It’s officially love month, and I’m already looking forward to the ways I’m going to treat myself this year. I want to remind you how important it is to make V-Day about loving yourself, so I’m sharing 5 ways to practice self-love this month!
Self-love is something I have to practice daily, and it’s truly the most vital relationship in my life. I’m a big believer that if I’m not feeling good about myself, how can I possibly be good to other people? Don’t forget: your most important relationship is with yourself! Keeping a good relationship with yourself is key to everything else going well. Whether you’re single, in a committed relationship, or just dating around this year, give yourself a lil extra love! BE YOUR OWN VALENTINE!
I like to practice self-love by dressing up because it makes me feel good. I was so excited to try these adorable lingerie pieces from Lane Bryant and embrace my curves. I honestly can’t get over how much I love this brand–the fact that they’re inclusive of sizes, they don’t edit their models, and they focus on showing real women with real bodies. I was browsing through their Valentine’s Day shop and spotted some of my favorite models too–Clémentine Desseaux and Bree Kish, I see you!
5 Ways To Practice Self-Love
1. Don’t compare yourself to others. Self-love is all about being happy with yourself no matter where you are in life. No one is better than you, everyone is on their own path, and there’s no need to compare.
2. Make fun a priority. Add something to your to-do list that is fun! We all need to take fun a little more seriously. Just like the things you have to do, fun should be a priority. Do something that makes you feel good. Enjoy life!
3. Speak kindly to yourself. We are all our toughest critics, but we shouldn’t be. Talk to yourself like you’d talk to someone you love and appreciate. Every time you think of something negative, try to turn it into a positive or give yourself a compliment. Cut yourself some slack and embrace that you are human. Don’t cut yourself down or criticize yourself–you’re doing amazing!
4. Treat yo’self! You don’t have to “reward” yourself because you accomplished something. Give yourself a little gift just ’cause. Get that cute dress you’ve had your eye on. Splurge on that restaurant you’ve been dying to go to. Book that trip you’ve had on your list. You deserve it.
5. List your successes. This is the ultimate self-love activity. Write down everything you love about yourself, every accomplishment you’ve made, and keep them in a note on your phone or notebook. Add to it regularly and re-read it when you’re feeling down. That way you can always remind yourself of how amazing you are.
