Style File: Surf Shack

Maybe it’s because I was born and raised in California, but I’ve dreamed of living in a little surf shack on the beach since I was a kid. There’s something so peaceful about that cool California surf shack style. High post and beam ceilings, a tiny shack flooded with bright light, tattered white paint that looks perfectly imperfect. The whole laid-back look of slouchy white sofas, and surf boards resting along the wall as if they just popped off of a vintage VW bus and landed in the living room. I’m so in love that I even made a whole Pinterest board inspired by this look. I just got this Surf Shack book and I’ve been flipping through it and re-imaging my space ever since. Pretty much all of the surf shack details are something I try to incorporate into my space: white walls, rattan details, beach prints on the wall. All that I’m missing is a surf board! Maybe my 2021 hobby is to take up surfing? Haha, either way here’s some eye-candy for you to incorporate the look into your space.
