5 Ways to Pay It Forward

This post is sponsored by Frost Bank. All opinions are my own.

With the holidays being the busiest time of year, and all of the craziness that goes along with them, I was so excited to hear about Frost Bank’s Frost It Forward initiative that focuses on the important things: spreading kindness and generosity! During the season of giving I was so excited to have the opportunity to talk about ways to spread optimism, kindness and generosity.  I decided to spread joy by buying flowers for my neighbors, and it made me SO happy to see their faces when I surprised them. Today I’m sharing five ideas on how to spread kindness and generosity around your community — no matter the season!

1. Buy your neighbor flowers. It’s so rare to form friendships with those that are even right next door to us these days. Knock on your neighbors door, introduce yourself, and give them flowers to brighten their day!

2. Pay for a stranger’s gas. Paying for everyday essentials like groceries and gas is one of my favorite ways to help others. Not only is it a huge surprise, it can be a huge weight off of someone’s shoulders.

3. Give compliments to strangers. We tend to notice nice things about others, but never say it to them. Make an effort to tell them something you like about them, and you might just make their day!

4. Donate clothes + canned goods to a homeless shelter. One of the easiest ways to give to those in need is to donate clothing and food. Donating things you already have, or new items is a great way to give to those that are less fortunate.

5. Pay for a meal for a family. Wouldn’t it be a lovely surprise for someone to have their meal out with family paid for by a stranger? Something as simple as picking up a family’s tab, and reminding them that the time spent together is something to be cherished can really brighten their day!

I hope these give you some ideas on how to spread kindness and generosity, and Frost It Forward in your own community! Click here to share how you would “Frost It Forward” in your own community! xoxo Erika
