Valentine’s Day Weekend Trips
I’m big on weekend trips, and we’re so lucky to live in California and have a zillion options to hop in the car and drive a few hours to the perfect vacation spot. Joe and I always feel weird about Valentines Day. It feels so forced. Dinner is supposed to be all romantic, but it always ends up being a cramped restaurant full of a million other awkward dates and the only option is eating from a pre-fix menu. We like to do things a little differently and just make it a weekend getaway! Here are a few California V-Day weekend trips to make the perfect getaway.
Palm Springs
Palm Springs is always a good idea. Lounge by the pool, eat at some amazing restaurants, or spend the day exploring Joshua Tree. For a romantic getaway by yourselves I’d recommend a stay at the Korakia, the Parker or the Sands Hotel a bit out of the city. See my full Palm Springs travel guide right here for more ideas.
Malibu
We can all get behind a v-day weekend at the beach, right? Stay at the Surfrider Hotel, visit the Getty Villa for an art viewing date, go on a hike, or even horse riding on the beach. Maybe even have dinner at Nobu for a big splurge.
Los Alamos
Make a trip to Los Alamos for a whole lot of wine tasting, and relaxing. Stay at The Alamo Motel or The Skyview Motel, and wine taste all afternoon. See my full travel guide for Los Alamos here.
Santa Barbara
Hello wine tasting weekend! I love spending time in Santa Barbara. Hit up the funk zone for wine tasting all day, bask in the sun at the beach, and eat at some amazing restaurants. Walk around the gorgeous courthouse and picnic for a fun lunch date.
