5 Ways to Declutter in the New Year
Make a Catch-all Entryway Basket
A simple basket can be the perfect way to contain all of your odds and ins. I like to keep on on the entry table to toss keys into, and anytime I have extra things I haven’t put away they end up there so that random receipts aren’t hanging out around the living room.
Pull Out All of Your Clothes You Haven’t Worn
Take all of your “I’ll wear this someday” clothes and toss them into a box. If you don’t think about them for a few months, take them to donation or a secondhand store that buys used clothes. You’ll have SO much more extra space to organize! And if you haven’t worn them in a year you probably won’t anyways!
Add Organizers to Your Drawers
Do you have messy drawers where you can’t find anything? Get drawer organizers so you can keep everything in it’s designated space. I have these interlocking trays and they’re life changing.
Go Through Your Pantry
We all have food we forgot we had in the back of our cabinets and pantry, so the new year is the perfect time to check all of those expiration dates and toss what you don’t need.
Make Your Hangers Uniform
Are your hangers all mismatched? It’s the perfect time to go through your hangers and make them all uniform. When they all match everything in your closet fits so much better, and it’s way easier on the eyes!
