Spring Living Room Refresh

I love to refresh my space each season, and I’ve been working on a major living room update the last few months that I’m so excited to show you. Last fall I shared my fall living room updates. This spring, I wanted to make the space bright and neutral, so that I could play around with more simple decor elements based on the season and mood.

I’ve always wanted a sectional where we could lounge and layout, and I had my eye on the Preston Sectional from Joybird for a while. We had bought the Hughes sofa from them before and loved it, so I was thrilled to collaborate with them on a new piece for the living room. They’re one of my favorite mid-century inspired furniture manufacturers because you can customize each style with different wood finishes and fabrics. We chose the Preston Sectional in Tussah Snow with medium toned wood legs.

The sectional brightens the room up so much. My favorite part about going with a bright, neutral color is the fact that I can swap out the throw pillows on repeat, and just about anything looks good on this sofa!

The cool thing about Joybird sofas is how you can customize them any way you’d like! They have so many color options to choose from. I ordered their free swatch kit, and then we decided on a pattern we both loved. We fell in love with the Tussah Snow fabric because of it’s texture that feels very classic mid-century, but also has enough texture to make any marks blend in with the fabric.

We opted for the reversible sectional so that we could swap out the side you can lounge on depending on how we design our room from time to time. It’s so cozy that Joe and I have been battling out who gets to lounge on the sectional each night. We haven’t even sat in our old lounge chair since the new couch came either. Safe to say the sofa is the coziest place in the house now.

To make things even more bright I added this bookcase from CB2. It heightens the ceiling so much more, and is actually visible behind the couch which I love. There are so many ways to style the shelves. Right now, I went with pampas grass, some books, baskets, and vases. I keep switching it up, and it’s so fun to change up.

The last spring update to the space was more plants! I’m always looking to add in more greenery, and the ivy addition was calling my name. Is there a thing as too many plants? I think not. I love how jungly it turned out!
